A brief introduction to the new sound-absorbing felt
With the development of science and technology and the advancement of the textile industry, the types of textiles have been increasing, and their applications and quantities have also greatly increased, from people's daily lives to industry, transportation, and military. Subsequently, the issue of textile fires has become increasingly important. According to the analysis of fire investigation results, fires caused by ignition and spread due to the non-flame-retardant nature of sound-absorbing felt account for more than 20% of fire accidents. Therefore, how to reduce the fire hazard of textiles and the toxic gases released during combustion, and reduce the loss of life and property, has attracted the attention of all mankind. Currently, the Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) is widely used internationally to characterize the flammability of sound-absorbing felt.
There are two main approaches to improving the flame retardancy of textile fibers at home and abroad: on the one hand, improving flame-retardant processes to enhance the flame-retardant properties of original flammable fibers while maintaining their original properties; on the other hand, vigorously developing new flame-retardant fibers. To meet the diversified needs of the market, countries led by Japan have strengthened the development of durable, efficient, and multi-functional flame-retardant fibers. According to different uses and requirements, these fibers have flame-retardant, heat-resistant, antibacterial and deodorant, fragrant, corrosion-resistant, anti-static, UV-resistant, waterproof, and antifouling functions. The traditional sound-absorbing felt process for flammable fibers has evolved from a single flame-retardant element to more than two flame-retardant elements.
Currently, domestic flame-retardant, heat-insulating, and sound-absorbing products have the single function of flame retardancy, heat insulation, or noise reduction, with large product weight, difficult cutting and construction, and short service life. Our sound-absorbing felt can achieve multiple functions simultaneously, and it is lightweight, easy to cut and construct, and has a long service life.
In addition, the current domestic rail transit, automotive, aerospace, and other fields urgently need new composite materials with multiple functions to replace the currently used single-function materials, while achieving weight reduction. This invention meets market demand and provides strong support for traditional industries and a new generation.
Sound-absorbing felt is relatively inexpensive and simple. The felt prepared by this technology not only has good flame-retardant effects but also has heat insulation and noise reduction effects.
